TENCEL®: A Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Material for our first 'Apres Surf + Sail' range of Athleisure!

Designed for the Northern Atlantic Coastal climate. This first range of 'Apres Surf + Sail' wear is made of TENCEL® fibers which are more absorbent than cotton, softer than silk and cooler than linen! They are made of a renewable raw material, Eucalyptus wood from Austria (these trees are cut not uprooted which allows for soil retention and faster regrowth). They are pure cellulose without any impurities.

It's an Ecological production - The unique closed loop process makes TENCEL® fibers the fibers of the future. The solvent used is recycled by almost 100% in a closed loop process. This material's awards and certifications include:

Colour Range of our TENCEL® Material:

The ultra-soft feel and texture of this material is enhanced by the unique colour selection for our first range. Colours you will find on any North Atlantic Beach. Muted, sand washed colours of the sea, stone, wood and waves.

These are 'Foam, Sea Glass, Driftwood and Marine' for this first range of styles of ultra-soft Tee Shirts, Pants, Shorts etc. Other colours will be added as the range develops, but first the mission is to make a range that is a true representation of an 'Irish Coastal Lifestyle' brand.

How to Care for your TENCEL® Garments in an Eco-friendly Way:

We want our customers to enjoy their beautiful garments for years to come! Due to the nature of our TENCEL® fabric and the special treatments and properties it offers, there are simple washing instructions to follow to preserve them.

Firstly, as they are Anti-bacterial treated they shouldn't need washing as often. A profoundly key benefit in today's climate and world. Generally, they will tolerate 2-3 wears before needing a wash ideally (which makes them perfect for taking on vacation!) When they are washed in a machine (or even by hand in a sink if you are in a pinch), a short wash with a Marine-friendly detergent will do the trick! Wash like colours together as a standard rule. Now here is the best part, don't put them in the dryer or use an iron on them! Hang them up and they will dry quickly, retain their silky feel and drape, and it will preserve the inherent beneficial properties too. Using heat on them is not advised as there will be 3-5% shrinkage and they will lose their superior feel and drape over time. We want your garments to last for more than 30 wears and beyond. These are not cheap cotton Tees that are meant to be disposable. They are finely crafted wardrobe staples that offer affordable luxury and a long life cycle if cared for properly. The 'Apres Surf + Sail' Athleisure ranges in TENCEL® and French Terry are just the first offerings we have developed for our customers.
